Maurizio Gherardini (born 22 September 1955 in Forlì, Italy) is an Italian basketball executive and the current President of the Lega Basket Serie A. He began as a player and coach with Libertas Forlì before becoming a top executive. He was General Manager of Benetton Treviso, where the club won multiple Italian titles and cups. In 2006 he became Vice President and Assistant GM of the Toronto Raptors — one of the first Europeans in a major NBA front-office role — and later worked with the Oklahoma City Thunder. From 2014 to 2025, he was General Manager of Fenerbahçe, winning two EuroLeague championships (including 2017 when he was named EuroLeague Executive of the Year) and numerous Turkish titles. In 2025 he was elected President of Italy’s top league, the Lega Basket Serie A.
