Tomas Balčėtis is a Lithuanian basketball executive and analytics specialist known for his long tenure in the NBA and recent move back to Europe. He graduated from Harvard University with a degree in economics and psychology before beginning a career in basketball operations. Balčėtis joined the Denver Nuggets organization in 2013, originally to lead their analytics department as the NBA was increasingly using advanced data in team building. Over the next decade he rose through the ranks—from managing analytics to Director of Basketball Strategy & Analytics, and then to Assistant General Manager—playing a key role in roster construction, scouting, salary-cap work, and analytics contributions that helped the Nuggets win the 2023 NBA championship.
After 12 years with the Nuggets, Balčėtis left the organization in 2025 and took on a new role in Lithuania with BC Žalgiris Kaunas as CEO of Confluence Valley, where he is involved in developing new player-analysis tools and applying advanced analytics to team strategy.
