Marco Kück is a former German professional footballer who played as a centre-back and is now working in scouting. Born in Bremerhaven in 1976, he began his career with Hamburger SV, where he made a brief appearance in the Bundesliga, before building a solid career across Germany’s lower divisions with clubs like VfL Osnabrück and Rot-Weiss Essen. Later in his career, he gained international experience with spells in Vietnam and Australia, giving him exposure to different football cultures and playing environments.
Following his retirement, Kück transitioned into scouting, where his broad playing background and knowledge of both European and international football landscapes became valuable assets. His experience in lower leagues and abroad has shaped a profile suited to identifying undervalued or emerging talent, particularly outside the most visible markets.
Today, Kück works for Bayer 04 Leverkusen as Head of Scouting Africa, having scouted across all continents. His role involves overseeing talent identification in key regions, contributing to the club’s global recruitment strategy, and helping uncover players who fit Leverkusen’s development-focused model.
